Spent a rainy Memorial Day weekend up here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was incredibly well kept, super clean, private, and nicely laid out. There were only two of us but you would be really comfortable here with a few more people because this place was really quite large. The hot tub was a great addition since the rain soured some plans, and because it’s covered you can enjoy the beautiful forrest surrounding the property in all elements. They aren’t joking about bears being active in the area though! We had a quick visitor shortly after we first arrived near the back patio — so be mindful of your things and your surroundings! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook and they even left a complimentary bottle of wine which was a really nice surprise. I also brought my dog here and felt like it was a perfect place to spend a long weekend, I would definitely come back with a larger group. It was 6 mins down the mountain to Food Lion, coffee, meat hand pies and more. We did day trips to Boone and the nearby wineries all were within ~30 mins from here. The weather brought in super dense fog so we were basically in a cloud for 4 days straight. I’m not sure if that’s typical or not but it was clear further down the mountain or in town at times where it was foggy at the house so it’s definitely higher in elevation so be prepared for that. Had a truly lovely time here and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
